New Zealand Plans to Introduce Law to Make Google, Facebook Pay Local Outlets for News

Facebook and Google may soon be required to pay media companies in New Zealand for local news content that appears on their feeds, based on proposed legislation from the government. The law is said to be modelled on similar laws in Australia and Canada aimed at large online digital companies.
