Digital Rupee: What the Introduction of CBDC Entails for India

CBDC, or the Central Bank Digital Currency, has emerged as quite the buzzword in India. Earlier this month, Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman announced that India will soon get its CBDC or digital rupee which will be regulated by the RBI. It will be India’s first national digital currency.
